That means some great new features within Adobe Creative Cloud have been announced again. But which new features are worthwhile and what time savings can you get from them?<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-afca543\" data-block-id=\"afca543\"><style>.stk-afca543 {margin-bottom:32px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">During our Adobe CC event, we already discussed and showed the most interesting innovations. In this blog we review the most notable new features within Adobe InDesign.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preview InDesign documenten<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-2adfd9b\" data-block-id=\"2adfd9b\"><style>.stk-2adfd9b {margin-bottom:32px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Even in <a href=\"https:\/\/catenacompany.be\/en\/event\/adobe-indesign-training\/\" data-type=\"event\" data-id=\"4026\">InDesign<\/a>, Adobe had been actively working for some time to make sharing designs even easier. Not surprisingly, Adobe has expanded this way of working. From now on, your client can decide to view the design in Adobe Bridge or just in your Documents or in the Finder, simply by pressing the space bar. This way, an extremely realistic preview of your pages, in the correct order, will be displayed.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Style packs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-006401c\" data-block-id=\"006401c\"><style>.stk-006401c {margin-bottom:32px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Another novelty, although still in its early stages, are <em>style packs<\/em>. Adobe already proposes some standard styles that you can use in your design. The ideal way to give your creative block a helping hand. Based on artificial intelligence, <a href=\"https:\/\/catenacompany.be\/en\/event\/adobe-indesign-training\/\" data-type=\"event\" data-id=\"4026\">InDesign<\/a> distinguishes between headings, subheadings and (bread) text. Associated with these styles are some fonts and font sizes. You can download and activate these at Adobe fonts.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-a026962\" data-block-id=\"a026962\"><style>.stk-a026962 {margin-bottom:32px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Unfortunately, the list of standard style packs is not that extensive.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-2eda1e0\" data-block-id=\"2eda1e0\"><style>.stk-2eda1e0 {margin-bottom:32px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">But let this encourage you to modify the style packs or create your own. The style packs are based on (paragraph) styles rather than fonts. If you would like to use your own font, this poses no problem at all.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Font recognition<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-0077a88\" data-block-id=\"0077a88\"><style>.stk-0077a88 {margin-bottom:32px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Font recognition is nothing new, but unfortunately it is still too little known. This feature makes it much easier to build Creative Cloud libraries, or CC libraries, based on an image. You can choose to add an image, but now you can also analyze different things from your image using Adobe Capture. You decide exactly what you want to extract from your image: fonts, color themes or shapes. Suppose you were to go for font recognition, Adobe offers you several, available, fonts that you can use. Take this opportunity to test out font recognition within <a href=\"https:\/\/catenacompany.be\/en\/event\/adobe-indesign-training\/\" data-type=\"event\" data-id=\"4026\">InDesign<\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A few more new features in Creative Cloud<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Auto style:<\/strong> Nowadays, when you copy text from a Word document, you can choose to import it into your <a href=\"https:\/\/catenacompany.be\/en\/event\/adobe-indesign-training\/\" data-type=\"event\" data-id=\"4026\">InDesign<\/a> document with the correct formatting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-991bca5\" data-block-id=\"991bca5\"><style>.stk-991bca5 {margin-bottom:32px !important;}<\/style><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">A tip from design expert, Patrick: it is actually always advisable to keep formatting, because that way you define your styles in <a href=\"https:\/\/catenacompany.be\/en\/event\/adobe-indesign-training\/\" data-type=\"event\" data-id=\"4026\">InDesign<\/a> in no time .<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Support <strong>new file formats<\/strong>: HEIC files are (image) files that come directly from your smartphone. Finally you can put them in <a href=\"https:\/\/catenacompany.be\/en\/event\/adobe-indesign-training\/\" data-type=\"event\" data-id=\"4026\">InDesign<\/a> as well, without any obstacles. What a winner!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Improved spread duplication features:<\/strong> duplicating spreads will now be even easier. A convenient way to reuse content and try out different layouts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Working with Adobe Illustrator<\/strong>: Copy from <a href=\"https:\/\/catenacompany.be\/en\/event\/adobe-illustrator-training\/\" data-type=\"event\" data-id=\"4039\">Illustrator<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/catenacompany.be\/en\/event\/adobe-indesign-training\/\" data-type=\"event\" data-id=\"4026\">InDesign<\/a>. Isn&#8217;t that something you&#8217;ve been able to do for years? No way, just now. But what a fantastic novelty. And <a href=\"https:\/\/catenacompany.be\/en\/event\/adobe-indesign-training\/\" data-type=\"event\" data-id=\"4026\">InDesign<\/a> will preserve all the formatting of the text as best it can.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>UXP scripting<\/strong>: after Java scripting, <a href=\"https:\/\/catenacompany.be\/en\/event\/adobe-indesign-training\/\" data-type=\"event\" data-id=\"4026\">InDesign<\/a> now offers UXP scripting. (more on this soon in another blog)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Expanding Adobe fonts:<\/strong> Were you already finding it difficult to choose an appropriate font? Good news, that&#8217;s now even harder.
