Adobe CC Event

Every year, Catena Company organises the free Adobe CC Event. Everything you need to know about the new features from the Adobe MAX Event will be explained in just a few hours. Want to do a quick test … how many of the features below do you already use? And would you like to learn more about them? If you do, we recommend tailor-made training. Here we go.

Adobe Photoshop

Adobe’s cloud service allows you to select subjects with greater precision. This is particularly useful when working with intricate details in your image, like hair or feathers. While Device mode offers faster results, the Cloud service provides superior detail. To switch between modes:

  1. Open Preferences in the dialogue box.
  1. Choose Image Processing.
  1. Under Select Subject Processing, select either Device or Cloud.
  1. Click Select in the dialogue box.
  1. Choose Subject.

Adobe After Effects

he latest update to After Effects has streamlined workflow efficiency. One of the standout features is the ability to assign colours to keyframes, which offers the following advantages:

  • Better organisation of keyframes.
  • Easier identification of components.
  • Faster retrieval of specific elements.
  • Simplified selection of a group of keyframes with the same colour.
  • Clear visibility of selected keyframes, regardless of their colour.

Assigning a colour to a keyframe is straightforward:

  1. Place your keyframe.
  1. Right-click the keyframe.
  1. Choose Label.
  1. Select your desired colour.

Adobe Premiere Pro

If you work with both background music and dialogue in your videos, you’re likely familiar with audio ducking. This feature lowers the volume of background music when dialogue is playing, making the dialogue more audible. Since August, audio ducking can be fine-tuned to your preferences. With new fade options, achieving your desired results is now faster and easier. To use audio ducking:

  1. Select your dialogue audio.
  1. In the Essential Sound panel, click Dialogue (the speech balloon icon).
  1. For Loudness, select Auto-Match.
  1. Next, designate your music track.
  1. In the Essential Sound panel, choose Music.
  1. Turn on Auto-Match under Loudness.
  1. Activate Ducking by checking the box.
  1. Use the slider to adjust the intensity.
  1. Generate keyframes.

Adobe Express

Adobe Express also has some new features. Two of them are quite impressive. The first innovation is based on content you can create in Adobe Express. It is now possible to set up multiple pages in a single creation. For example, you can convert the same content to a different format within the same file. When you are done, you can find an overview of all the designs via the grid views.

And that’s just the beginning. Since recently, you can access the Content Scheduler within Adobe Express. The Content Scheduler comes with many benefits:

  • All content is bundled in one place.
  • You can schedule your content on multiple social media channels.
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • LinkedIn
  • Pinterest
  • Create, schedule and publish your content within the same app.

Currently, Adobe continues to make this feature even more attractive in various ways, including an integration of e.g. TikTok and analytics. Still, there are some limitations to the app. Content Scheduler is limited in use unless you are working with the Adobe Express web app. Moreover, you can only publish directly via the Adobe Express mobile app.

Adobe Illustrator

3D is on the rise. With the growing popularity of 3D, it’s completely normal to want to experiment with it. Adobe is tapping into this trend. Since July, you can now convert your own 3D shapes into wireframes, allowing for greater precision. If you later decide to export your wireframes as a line drawing, the process is seamless. Here’s how to use this feature:

  1. Create a shape.
  1. Open the Effect menu in the dialogue box.
  1. Select 3D & Materials.
  1. Adjust Depth and Bevel as needed.
  1. Customise the shape to your liking.
  1. In the 3D & Materials window, navigate to the Object panel.
  1. Scroll down to the Quick Actions section.
  1. Select Expand as Wireframe.
  1. Finally, go to File and choose Export.
  1. Select the requested size for the line drawing.

Adobe Lightroom Classic

Adjusting a preset filter in Lightroom Classic is now easier than ever. Thanks to the handy Slider, you can fine-tune the filter’s intensity in seconds. Here’s how to use this feature:

  1. Open a photo in the Develop module.
  1. On the left-hand side, you will see several windows. Select the Presets pane here.
  1. Select the reset of your choice. Apply the filter.
  1. Use the Amount Slider to adjust the filter’s intensity.

Does this leave you wanting more?

Stay tuned! We regularly share Adobe updates with you and warmly invite you to our Adobe MAX event every October – the ultimate showcase where all the latest features are announced. To make things even better, we summarise the most exciting features and demonstrate them in a practical, hands-on livestream in just a few hours.
