All the novelties in Adobe Illustrator 2023

Gepubliceerd op

On October 27, our annual Adobe CC event went ahead again. Here, as usual, we discussed the most striking new features within Adobe Creative Cloud, which can be useful for you as a content creator within a brand owner. There were some stunning new features for Adobe Illustrator as well. What can you do with it? And does it make your workflow more efficient? In this blog, we would like to list the most interesting new features within Adobe Illustrator once again.

Quick Actions

Where is this new feature anyway? You may have asked yourself this several times, too. Just like our design expert, Patrick. Don’t worry, you can find all the quick actions by the magnifying glass next to the share button. Well, you’ve found them now, but what does this new feature do?

Quick actions offer something more than the actions Illustrator already offered through its scripting capabilities. Now you can adjust the colors of your design by applying increased saturation, for example. Or you can use a retro or neon effect within your design. But that was already possible, right? Indeed, but thanks to Adobe’s new upgrade, the font is also adjusted. And of course, everything remains non-destructive so you can still change your text.

It’s probably already starting to itch to start working on it yourself. Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to create your own quick action. But we hope this will be possible in the future. To be continued…

Intertwine

The intertwine tool was something many designers had been waiting for for years. Because with it, you make sure you can alternate objects in the foreground and background. With this intertwine function you can create a sense of depth or dimension in your 2D design in no time. A feature that was very intensive until now! Great feature. Isn’t it?

3D

Last year Adobe already introduced 3D in Illustrator, this year the possibilities were expanded even further.

You already had the ability to select and slide objects into your design, now the 3D aspect is added thanks to the asset export function. Saving your design as an OBJ file preserves all its properties. So you can forward your 3D design and reuse it in other packages.

And it doesn’t stop there…

  • Share for review: also in Illustrator, sharing your design becomes even easier. You share the link and your client or colleague can open it online. All feedback appears directly in your workspace. Great!
  • Adobe InDesign collaboration: finally it’s here! You can now copy content from InDesign to Illustrator. The program will preserve all the formatting of the text as best it can.
