Every year we sit on the edge of our seats to find out the new features of Adobe Creative Cloud. During Adobe’s event, Adobe Max, they unveil the most innovative novelties. During our Adobe CC Event, we go over the most interesting ones. Premiere Pro was also featured. A program that has again received some fine changes. What are the new additions? And how do they work? Find out in this blog.
Automatic color corrections
Adobe Sensei comes beeping once with this new feature of Premiere Pro. One press of the auto-button, within the Lumetri panel, uses artificial intelligence to analyze the image and Premiere Pro makes a color correction suggestion. Not completely satisfied? No problem, convert it completely to your liking by adjusting a few more things manually. Working with automatic color corrections is definitely a good starting point if you don’t know how to get started with color corrections.
Audio mixing
What a gamechanger, this new feature! Or should we say new? It’s not an announced release from Adobe Max, but it’s an impressive one. Get rid of all the time you spend cutting your audio correctly. Or if a year ago you were reaching for Adobe Audition to get a good remix of your audio, it can now be done internally in Premiere Pro. All through the remix tool that’s below the ripple edit tool. You simply grab your audio clip and drag it to the desired length. Some jagged bits can be seen. These are the places where Premiere Pro cut and pasted. So be sure to listen again to see if this remix lives up to your expectations. Use the audio panel to mix until the audio is to your liking or use it to create multiple variations.
New and faster motion graphics templates
Finding video templates in Adobe Stock where it was possible to replace things… Until recently, it was a miserable search. Fortunately, media replacement templates have completely broken through. With the new release of Creative Cloud, a whole bunch of templates with placeholders have been published. What are placeholders? Those are all the places where you put your own images. Motion graphic templates is an indulgent way to present photo montages in an attractive way.
Frame.io integration
Frame.io recently became part of your Creative Cloud subscription. How does this lesser-known platform work?
It’s actually very easy. You upload the active sequence in Premiere Pro and choose share for review. You get the option to email the person, with whom you are sharing the project, directly with an online link and an additional message.
The big advantage of Frame.io? It works through a camera-to-cloud system. This allows this person to provide feedback from anywhere in the world, home, office, country or even continent. This feedback is given in the form of text or an indication on the screen. The project in Frame.io is linked and allows you to view the feedback in Premiere Pro. When you designate a comment, you go straight to the right moment in your timeline. A tip? Make it easy on yourself by grouping, ticking off and replying to comments.
Unfortunately, we do have to inform you that there is a limit on the number of videos you upload on Frame.io. Would you like to increase this or have the ability to work in different teams? Then you should definitely consider the paid version of this platform.
And it gets even better…
- Inner and outer strokes: working with strokes is nothing new. What is new is that you can choose the location of your strokes. Do you put them on the outside, inside or in the middle? The choice is yours. Adding multiple strokes is equally possible.
- More flexible alignment: aligning text and shape elements in one click… Yes, from now on it is possible. When you select all the text together with the shape, the elements can be grouped together. This is a much more flexible way of working than with alignment tools. Thanks to this small change, it is possible.
- Bulk editing of titles on the timeline: done with text elements adjusted separately. By selecting them together, you will find all shared elements in the essentials graphics panel. If you change anything within these elements, it is immediately applied to all text elements.
- Video preview by codec: previously you had a large assortment of codecs. These are still there, only that Apple ProRes 422 has now become the standard. Not only for the Apple users among us, but also for Windows users.
