By 2027, our products will take on a new look. The traditional barcode we’ve relied on for 50 years is being replaced by a QR code – a code that can be scanned not only by cashiers but also by consumers. The goal? To assist consumers in the decision-making process. With this code, consumers can access detailed product information. This shift requires producers to update their packaging – a prime example of working with dynamic data. But how can you, as a producer, navigate such a change seamlessly? 

Adapting to a constantly changing market 

As a producer, flexibility is essential in a market that’s always evolving. This means working efficiently with dynamic data. In this case, it’s about updating barcodes on packaging to QR codes. Quickly develop new packaging 

Every producer knows that packaging needs an occasional revamp, not just when regulations change. If a packaging template is provided, it can be automated to meet the standards for other products. For instance, images or product information can be integrated seamlessly. This approach reduces both the time and costs associated with rebranding your products.  

Collect accurate info in your DAM 

In times of change, it’s crucial to ensure all your data is accurate and easily accessible. A Digital Asset Management system (DAM) is invaluable here. A single source of truth minimises the risk of misinformation. Within a DAM, you can assign appropriate access rights to the right people, ensuring content doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. 

Manage product information with PIM 

If your DAM serves as the foundation for accurate data, a Product Information Management (PIM) system handles the organisation and dissemination of that data. With PIM, companies can manage vast amounts of product information efficiently. In the case of QR codes, PIM ensures that up to date product information is distributed across the correct channels.
