ZAS keeps their website up-to-date and accurate with DAM integration

Following the merger of GZA and ZNA to form ZAS, Catena Company ensured seamless integration between their website and a new DAM system. The result? Always accurate and up-to-date brochures online, a single central location for all assets, advanced rights management, and automatic updates without manual work. A secure, efficient, and time-saving solution for Belgium’s...

On July 3, 2024, GZA Hospitals and Antwerp Hospital Network merged to form ZAS, Ziekenhuis aan de Stroom (Hospital on the River). With more than 3,300 beds and 10,000 employees—including 1,000 doctors—ZAS is now the largest hospital in Belgium and one of the five largest in Europe.

A merger often involves technical challenges, especially when it comes to managing large amounts of sensitive information. It is not only important that this information is easy to find, but also that everything remains accurate and secure. After all, no one wants to encounter incorrect information on the website of a healthcare institution. Fortunately, Catena Company has fully optimized the link between their new DAM system (Digital Asset Management) and the website.

Up to date brochures

One of ZAS’s biggest concerns was the information shared via the website. In the healthcare sector, it is crucial to handle data with care. Incorrect or outdated information can lead to misunderstandings or even risks for patients. Visitors to the ZAS website will find numerous downloadable brochures, ranging from rehabilitation exercises to informative leaflets about medication. To ensure that these documents are always up to date, a smart solution is essential.

A huge time saver

Thanks to the link with their new DAM system, version management is now a piece of cake. Imagine you need to update a brochure about rehabilitation exercises. You simply upload the new version to the DAM system, and it appears immediately on the website—without having to change the link. No more double work, no more manual adjustments to the website. A huge time saver!

One central location with
all assets

To ensure smooth collaboration between the various ZAS locations, a single central location was chosen to manage all digital assets. This guarantees brand consistency. Security was also high on the list of priorities. Thanks to the extensive capabilities of the DAM system, security is optimally guaranteed:

  • Usage rights: Each asset is given a clear status:
    • Do not use
    • Internal use
    • External use
  • Additional filters: Are there people visible in an image? Are they patients, doctors, or visitors? These filters ensure that privacy is always guaranteed and allow you to quickly switch settings in the event of a death, for example.

Customized views

Although the hospitals now operate under a single name, the various locations continue to play an important role. The DAM system makes it possible to filter assets by location.

In addition, ZAS also has medical images that not everyone needs to see. Users can therefore choose whether or not they want to display these images. A small but valuable addition for user convenience!

But that’s not all. With specific user rights, everyone gets access to exactly what they need – and nothing more. This keeps sensitive data secure and prevents assets from falling into the wrong hands. Consider, for example:

  • Teams that only need website images.
  • Employees who need access to all communication materials.

A relief for communication

For the communications department at ZAS, the new DAM system is a huge relief.

  • One central location for all communication materials ensures that brand expressions are always up to date and consistent.
  • Using the Dynamic Asset Transformation (DAT) feature, assets are automatically adjusted to the correct format depending on where they are used on the website.
  • Thanks to smart features, derivatives are automatically created from assets, for example from a Photoshop or Illustrator file to JPG, PNG, or SVG.
  • Campaigns are easier to manage by using shareable collections.

This new working method enables ZAS to guarantee up-to-date and accurate communication to its target group. Would you like to know more about what a DAM system can do for your organization? Feel free to contact us!
