De Ceuster Meststoffen sounds familiar to anyone with green fingers. The international player was struggling with outdated technology. Stylish photos taken by their own photographer, which are at the heart of all their marketing campaigns, were hard to find. Providing the correct product images became a more complex task and the outdated system could not be adequately upgraded. Together with Catena Company, they made the switch to a new DAM system.
At the time, photo and video content management was complex, decentralised and had no connection to external systems. This made asset retrieval a time-consuming task. Not what you expect from DAM technology. If technology does not evolve along with business activities, it quickly becomes obsolete, especially usability was not what is should be. With a forward-looking vision, they started looking for a new system that had to be both user-friendly and futureproof.
The big advantage of Bynder is its user-friendly interface. This makes it easier for everyone in the organisation to get around faster and find everything immediately. The use of metadata allows quick searches within existing assets. Automatic metadata generation via AI is a welcome evolution. Considering filters and taxonomy well, brings a search to completion in a few clicks. Much more efficient than the former folder system.
In addition, it was very important for DCM to fit the new system in with their vision for the future. Because DAM is a cloud solution, there are now more opportunities for growth and integration. For instance, the DAM will soon work seamlessly with the product data stored in the Akeneo PIM.
Finally, sharing marketing assets with external parties is simplified by the modern DAM built-in WeTransfer functionality. The convenient use of collections, which is a selection of assets for a particular customer or target group, makes collaboration super easy and efficient.
Making the switch to a new DAM system involves many uncertainties. Catena Company ensured that the migration from the old platform to their new went flawlessly. In collaboration with DCM’s team, the platform was set up according to the client’s requirements. The branding, taxonomy, derivatives, metadata are fully in line with the business cases used. DAM is now the single source of truth for all media assets, fitting perfectly within De Ceuster Meststoffen’s online architecture vision.
