lednlux® works pre-eminently with innovative products. They provide the most personal and creative lighting installations based on LED technology. Genk-based lednlux® is currently experiencing strong growth. For the time being, lednlux® is mainly active in Belgian industrial and architectural lighting solutions, although the business is also growing abroad.
A real success story, and like any other successful growth companies, faced by the challenge to optimise and accelerate operational processes. lednlux® recently chose to implement Odoo as its CRM system and for this collaborated with Dynapps. Well, in fact, Odoo is much more than a CRM. It includes a whole range of convenient business apps and – what is especially interesting – it is open source. lednlux® immediately expanded it with a Product Information Management or PIM app by Dynapps.
This was not just a random decision. lednlux® absolutely wanted to be able to manage all data in one place. A good choice, indeed, the big challenge was finding a solution to keep the product catalogue up to date. Innovative products imply that product specifications can change at any time. The products may still look the same as shown in the 2019 catalogue, but the specifications are hopelessly outdated. This is mainly a problem for installers and b2b customers who rely on that fancy catalogue. On the one hand, they need to consult the specifications of the lednlux® collection, but on the other hand they also want to offer the lednlux® products in nice projects, e.g. the lighting at Corda Campus Hasselt.

Catena Company’s Dynamic Data Publishing or DDP Suite links the publishing process with the PIM. With a single click, the data fields in the nicely formatted InDesign templates synchronise with the source data in the PIM. Whereas publishing a new catalogue used to be a laborious and expensive process, which required an external partner, everything is much faster and completely in-house now. lednlux® can release publications more frequently because the cost has been reduced dozens of times.
Another advantage of the DDP Suite is that different catalogues can easily be published for different target markets. For example, an installer of industrial lighting has no interest in the range of architectural solutions. Everything used to be together in one catalogue. It has now been split into two catalogues, which are very easy to publish thanks to the use of different templates and links.
With a single click, the data fields in the nicely formatted InDesign templates synchronise with the source data in the PIM.
The central data management in the PIM and the link to the DDP Suite offers numerous other possibilities. The DDP Suite can be used not only for the publication of catalogues, but also for data sheets, price lists, packaging and so on. With a view to foreign markets, publishing catalogues in other languages also no longer requires that much work. It’s just a matter of creating new InDesign templates. Managing websites and web shops also becomes a lot easier when all product information is collected in one central PIM.
lednlux® needs just one employee to keep all data centrally up to date and manage all publications, who will also have time left for all marketing communications. Content generation is also a piece of cake with the PIM and the DDP Suite as support.
